Sanjay’s full name is Sanjay Balraj Dutt, known as his screen name Sanjay Dutt. He was born in 1959 to actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. He has two sisters, Priya and Namrata.
He was married to actress Richa Sharma in the year 1987. In 1988, Richa gave birth to a daughter, Trishala. In 1996, Richa died due to brain tumour. After that, he married Rhea Pillai in 1998. Rhea was an air hostess. This marriage lasted only a few years. In 2008, he got divorced. After that Sanjay got married to Manyata. The real name of Manyata is Dilnawaz Sheikh. Both of them first registered marriage in Goa in 2008 and then two years later they did traditional Hindu marriage in Mumbai. In 2010, they were blessed with twins, a boy and a girl.
He made his Bollywood debut in the film Rocky in 1981. Rocky became a super hit. His career starting films proved to be a good hit. But in his career, the turning point came with the film ‘Naam’ in 1986. The film proved to be a big hit at the box office. After this, he made many hit films.
Serial blasts took place in Mumbai in 1993, in which Sanjay Dutt was also one of the accused. In this case, he was arrested in April 1993. Then in May 1993, he was released on the bail. But in July 1994, his bail was cancelled and he was arrested again. He was released again on bail in October 1995. In July 2007, he was freed from the charges of Mumbai Blasts. But he was imprisoned for six years only because of possessing illegal weapons. His sentence was completed in February 2016 and he was released.
